Two hundreds years ago, in 1816, a great number of art masterpieces returned to Italy from Paris. The were the booty that Napoleon brought to France, after the conquests in Italy. The idea of the Emperor was to create in Paris an universal museum (hence the name of the exhibition). This event obliged the experts to discuss new methods to preserve and study the masterpieces of the past, and saw the creation of great public museums. Here you will admire works of Raphael, Titian, Guido Reni, Correggio and several masterpieces of ancient greek-roman art.
